An Open Letter of Gratitude to Our Community

Dear Friends of the Children’s Law Center,

As the year draws to a close and we reflect on the work behind us, and the work still ahead, one word rises to the surface again and again: grateful. At Children’s Law Center of Central North Carolina, gratitude is more than a sentiment we feel. It is the foundation of our mission, the heartbeat of our work, and the reminder of why our community’s support matters so deeply.

We are grateful for the incredible community that stands with us.

Every day, we see the strength and generosity of people across Forsyth and Guilford Counties. You show up – at events, in conversations, in your advocacy, and in your belief that every child deserves safety, stability, and a voice. Your commitment fuels our programs and lifts the children and families we serve.

We are grateful for our staff and volunteer attorneys.
Their work is not easy. They step into difficult family situations, complex courtrooms, and emotional conversations with unwavering professionalism and heart. They ensure that children, who often feel invisible in moments of crisis, are heard, respected, and centered in decisions that will impact the rest of their lives.

We are grateful for the donors and supporters who make this work possible.
Your gifts are acts of hope. They guarantee that a child facing trauma, uncertainty, or instability is met with an advocate who listens, protects, and speaks up for their best interest. Every hour of legal representation and every moment of advocacy is rooted in your generosity.

Our volunteers step in with compassion and purpose, helping our team create meaningful change. From assisting with events to supporting our staff, their dedication reminds us that our mission is shared, and that the wellbeing of children is a responsibility our community embraces wholeheartedly.

They are the reason we do this work, and they are the ones who inspire us daily. Their courage in the face of conflict, their resilience in moments of upheaval, and their hope for what their futures can look like remind us why advocacy matters. They show us that even in difficult circumstances, growth and healing are possible. They encourage us to do better, reach further, and speak louder.
